Horse Rescue Near Court Case 883

Mr Raja from Woraiyur owns few horses and let them scavenge in the roadsides. This baby horse belongs to him. It met accident near court and its front right leg had fracture. An advocate got our contact details from forest department and informed us about this. We went to spot and did first aid to the horse. But we couldn't rescue and transport the horse that day. We enquired and found the owner and informed him about the matter. He said he was out of station and would take the horse the next day. But he didn't attend the horse. The next day we went to search the horse but we couldn't locate. On third day Mr Pradeep an Animal activit informed us that the horse was roaming near cantonment area. Before we reach the spot the horse escaped. The next day also we couldn't locate the horse. On fifth day we got information from public about the location of the horse. We strictly warned the horse owner to catch and treat the horse. He said he would catch and treat the horse. He caught the horse and dumped it in river cauvery bed. Youths fishing there lifted the horse from the river bed and let it on the road. A person travelling on Trichy - Chennai highway saw this baby horse limping and contacted Fire Service. He got our contact details from Fire Service and informed us about the location of the horse. We went and enquired in the Devadhanam area and found the horse. We Rescued the horse and Brought to Palakkarai Vet Clinic for Treatment. We admitted the horse at Palakkarai Vet Clinic. Dr Ganesh Kumar examined and said nothing much can be done. We then asked Doctors from Orathanadu Vet College for their opinion. They said plates can be fixed. We then ordered plates from Chennai. Dr Senthil Kumar did surgery and fixed plates. After couple of days the screw of the plate broke. We Fostered and treated the horse at Palakkarai Vet Clinic for about a month. Internship Doctors Atheeswaran and Arun Kumar did daily dressings, injections, treatments etc. Despite their best efforts, day by day the condition of the horse deteriorated. The horse died. With the help of corporation we buried the horse. Total expenses for the treatment of the horse crossed Rs. 10000 and as usual all the expenses were borne by us.
